Odd Shots on Monday~Touch of the Master's Hand

~ My odd shot, taken in front of the Lyric Center in downtown Houston, reminded me of a Wayne Watson song I loved from the very first time I heard it~
.....And many a man with life out of tune~All battered and scarred with sin~Is auctioned cheap to a thankless world~Much like that old violin......
Touch of the Master's Hand~Wayne Watson~Album "How Time Flies" 1992

Great shot! It looks like it's just suspended in mid-air. Love it.

That trully looks as if suspended in mid-air. An illusion, I know, but makes it both a good shot and an odd shot.

Thanks for the visit and for the comments. No, I do not know your Mr. Hale who writes for the paper.

I also write for three newspapers but two of them don't pay me anything. LOL.

I tell stories about how things were. I forget how old I am until I have old men open doors for me and let me go in first. My wife says they were younger than me. I never thought I would live this long but I was in Houstin a long time ago.

I got there selling pots and pans from door to door all the way from Tucson, Arizona across New Mexico and into Texas and finally ended up in Houston. It must have been about 1951. Houstin was a small city. One main street that was as straight as a stick with a downtown section about three blocks long.

We went to a ritzy section just off the main drag and door to door trying to sell pots and pans. At some houses people came to the door with a silver tray and handed me the tray???

What's this? I am the one selling pots and pans.

"Your card, sir!"

I quit there and begged my daddy to send me $40.00 to come home by greyhound. He did. I went.
